PM Modi to attend SCO Summit, says DovalThe official also formally announced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, which is scheduled to be held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1.
PM Modi would also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the summit. Both the leaders had last met in Russia’s Kazan in October 2024, during a multilateral event.

Bilateral relationship imp for growth, says Wang Yi
The Chinese official said that the two sides should increase mutual trust through strategic communication, expand common interest through exchanges and cooperation, and properly settle the specific issues along the borders.
“We are heartened to see the stability that is now restored in the borders,” Yi said.
“Now the bilateral relationship is facing an important opportunity of improvement and growth. The Chinese side attaches great importance to the prime minister’s visit to China to attend the SCO Summit at our invitation,” he added.
Wang Yi is also expected to meet PM Modi on the evening of August 19.
The Chinese foreign minister landed in New Delhi on August 18 for a two-day state visit to India and was welcomed by India’s External affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar.
