The license has been granted for a term of five years, with the option to extend it by another two years, subject to the agreed terms and provisions of the Letter of Award (LoA). The agreement also includes payment of license fees and a minimum guarantee amount as stipulated in the LoA.
Cochin International Airport is the eighth busiest airport in India and has handled more than 11 million passengers in FY2024-25. There are 27 airline companies which operate from CIAL, facilitating direct connectivity to multiple destinations.It is the first airport in the world to be powered entirely by solar energy, achieving complete power neutrality.
