The couple were the only Indians present at the dinner, which saw Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance meeting the Ambanis. Mukesh and Nita Ambani will be attending the inauguration on January 20 as personal guests of the Trump family.
The Ambanis share a close relationship with the Trump family. Mukesh Ambani was present when Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald Trump, visited Hyderabad in 2017 for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit. He was also in attendance during Trump’s visit to India in February 2020 as the sitting US President.
Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner were among the many celebrities who attended the elaborate pre-wedding celebrations of the Ambanis’ youngest son Anant, and his fiancée Radhika Merchant, in Jamnagar, Gujarat, in 2024. Ivanka posted several pictures from the celebrations, including one of her in a gold and silver gown, calling the first night of festivities a “magical evening in Everland”.
