The Economist reports that after the trade deal between the United States ( US) and the European Union (EU) French President Macron had commented that ‘to be free, you need to be feared; and we were not feared enough’. There may be a bit of hyperbole in this statement-but it sums up what all neutral commentators have been saying about the trade pact.
