Uno Minda expands R&D capabilities with new facility in Czech Republic

Uno Minda Limited, a global Tier-1 supplier of automotive systems and solutions, today announced the establishment of a new research and development (R&D) center in the Czech Republic. This facility will focus on advancing lighting technologies to meet the growing needs of the global automotive industry.In addition to this expansion, Uno Minda also revealed a leadership transition. Rajeev Gandotra, CEO of the Lighting and Acoustics Domain (LAS)-2, has retired after a distinguished 31-year career with the company. Uno Minda expressed its gratitude for his contributions and wished him well in retirement.

Taking over from Gandotra, Vivek Jindal, Whole-time Director and former CEO of LAS-1, has been appointed as the CEO of the newly consolidated Lighting and Alternate Fuel Systems (LAS) Domain. The restructuring merges LAS-1 and LAS-2 to streamline operations, improve decision-making, and enhance the company’s focus on sustainable mobility.

Uno Minda, which designs and manufactures a wide range of automotive components including lighting, acoustics, and seating systems, continues to invest in innovation. With 74 manufacturing facilities globally and 37 R&D centers, including the new Czech facility, the company remains a key player in the automotive sector.

Shares of Uno Minda ended 0.3% higher today on the BSE at a price of 828.00.
