Prime Minister Narendra Modi had invited the Russian President to visit India when the two leaders held talks in Moscow in July 2024. Modi was on a two-day diplomatic visit to Moscow to strengthen India’s relationship with Russia. During the visit, Modi emphasised the imperative of dialogue for peace, particularly amid ongoing conflicts.
Putin hosted Modi at his official residence at Novo-Ogaryovo for a “private engagement” during which the former praised the visiting Indian leader for the work he has done for the country’s progress.PM Modi visited Russia from October 22-23, 2024, at the invitation of President Putin to attend the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin also confirmed that talks between US President Donald Trump and Putin may take place as early as next week.
