The telecom operator showed improvement in key financial metrics, with revenue and operational performance seeing an uptick.
The company’s revenue from operations rose 1.7% sequentially to ₹11,117.3 crore from ₹10,932.2 crore in Q2FY25, driven by an increase in average revenue per user (ARPU).
VIL’s ARPU improved to ₹173 in Q3FY25, compared to ₹166 in the previous quarter, reflecting a better subscriber mix and an increase in premium users.At the operating level, the telecom major posted notable growth in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA), which stood at ₹4,712.4 crore, compared to ₹4,549.8 crore in Q2FY25.

The EBITDA margin also expanded to 42.4% from 41.6% in the preceding quarter, reflecting cost optimisation efforts and operational efficiencies.
Vodafone Idea continued to expand its 4G network, increasing its population coverage by 41 million to reach 1.07 billion. The company’s 4G subscriber base grew slightly to 126 million in Q3 FY25, up from 125.6 million a year ago.
Additionally, 4G data capacity improved by 24%, while speeds saw a 28% increase compared to March 2024. Vodafone Idea remains on track to achieve its 4G population coverage target of 1.1 billion by March 2025, with plans to expand further to 1.2 billion, covering ~90% of India’s population, the company said.
The phased rollout of Vodafone Idea’s 5G services is progressing, with commercial launches planned across key cities. The company aims to launch 5G services in Mumbai by March 2025, followed by Delhi, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, and Patna in April 2025, it added.
Vodafone Idea’s total debt from banks stood at ₹2,330 crore as of December 31, 2024. The company has been actively working on securing fresh funding to support its operations and upcoming 5G expansion plans.
Ahead on earnings announcement, shares of Vodafone Idea ended 3.29% lower at ₹8.82 apiece on the BSE on Tuesday.
