Voltas Ltd reported a sharp 58% year-on-year drop in net profit to ₹140.6 crore for Q1FY26, missing estimates as unseasonal weather conditions and subdued summer demand significantly impacted cooling product sales. Revenue declined 20% YoY to ₹3,938.6 crore, while EBITDA halved to ₹178.6 crore. Margins contracted to 4.5% from 8.6% last year. The results missed street expectations across the board. Analysts had pegged Q1 net profit at ₹195 crore and revenue at ₹4,409 crore. Shares of Voltas closed 0.63% lower at ₹1,301 on NSE ahead of the earnings announcement. The management attributed the weak performance to delayed summer onset and an early monsoon, which led to lower off-take, especially in the air conditioner segment. A high base effect from last year, when prolonged heatwaves drove record sales, also amplified the decline. Also Read: Q1 Results Updates: Tata Motors profit falls 30%, DOMS Industries profit up 11%Despite this, Voltas retained its No. 1 position in both fixed-speed and inverter ACs, supported by its strong brand, robust distribution network, and diversified portfolio.
