According to a criminal complaint against the teenager, Ms Casap died from multiple gunshot wounds on or around February 11, while Mr Mayer died from a gunshot wound to the head.
The FBI accused Casap of spending two weeks living with the bodies of his parents. They further charged him with conspiracy, trying to use a weapon of mass destruction, and attempting to kill the president. While looking for a device that belonged to Casap, FBI officers found what they dubbed a “manifesto”. They noted that the manifesto advocated for the president’s execution to create turbulence and ignite a racial war.
A recently leaked search warrant revealed that the suspect’s phone also allegedly contained adulation for Adolf Hitler and information about a neo-Nazi organisation known as the Order of Nine Angles.
The Order of Nine Angles allegedly “advocates for the use of violence and terrorism to overthrow governments and destroy modern civilization,” per NBC News.

According to the court documents, investigators also found antisemitic writings in which Casap allegedly described his desire to assassinate Trump as part of a larger scheme to topple the government.
The FBI claimed that Casap bought “a drone with a dropping mechanism” in part so that it could hurt a target by dropping “an explosive, Molotov cocktail, or very strong topical poison.”
Local authorities went to their home in the village of Waukesha, close to Milwaukee, and discovered the parents dead after Casap missed two weeks of school.
Casap was arrested on February 28 for running a stop sign while driving his stepfather’s Volkswagen Atlas in WaKeeney, Kansas, 800 miles from his Wisconsin home.
According to a complaint, the dead parents’ drivers’ licenses, expended shell casings, and Mr Mayer’s Smith & Wesson.357 Magnum pistol were discovered in the vehicle.
“The killing of his parents appeared to be an effort to obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary to carry out his plan,” the affidavit stated.
Casap remains in custody on a $1 million bond (approximately ₹8.6 crore) after appearing in court for a preliminary hearing on April 9.
He is expected to appear in court again to have the charges against him read on May 7.
