Dutta and his family owned the travel agency Stallion, which was merged with Taj Services of the Taj Group of Hotels in 2013. At the time of the merger, the Dutta family held an 80% stake in Stallion, while the remaining stake belonged to Tata Industries. Estimates suggest that he held a direct 0.83% stake in Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, with a total wealth of approximately ₹8,000 crore.Beyond his Tata Sons shares, Tata-owned several luxury cars, including Ferraris and Maseratis, along with valuable paintings, startup investments, and other assets.
