2026 Tata Punch Facelift Vs Older Tata Punch: Upgrades & Features Compared – Check What’s New | Auto News

Date:

Tata Punch Facelift: Tata Motors has officially launched the 2026 Tata Punch facelift in India at a starting price of Rs 5.59 lakh, marking the first major update since the model’s debut in 2021. While the overall shape has been kept familiar by the automaker, the facelift brings several noticeable changes in design, features, and engine options.

Tata Punch Facelift: Exterior Design

The older Tata Punch had a simple, upright design with conventional headlamps. In contrast, the 2026 Punch facelift draws inspiration from the Punch EV. It now features vertically stacked LED headlamps and slimmer LED DRLs placed near the bonnet, connected by a black grille.

The bumper design has been updated with a silver-finished skid plate, giving the SUV a tougher look. At the rear, the facelift introduces connected LED tail lamps, replacing the smaller units seen earlier. New 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and four new colour options also give a fresh look to the facelift model.

Tata Punch Facelift: Interior Updates

Inside, the dashboard layout is largely similar to the older Punch, but visible updates exist. The facelift gets a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, replacing the older design. The climate control system is now touch-based, unlike the physical buttons on earlier models.

Seat upholstery has been refreshed with a new grey-and-blue theme, and extended under-thigh support has been added for better comfort. However, like before, the rear middle passenger still lacks a headrest.

Tata Punch Facelift: Features

The older Punch already offered good features for its segment, but the facelift adds more. While the 10.25-inch touchscreen continues, the new model includes a 360-degree camera, a 7-inch digital driver display, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a new 8-speaker sound system. Wireless charging, cruise control, a single-pane sunroof, and fast Type-C charging are also available.

Tata Punch Facelift: Engine Options

One of the biggest differences is under the bonnet. The 2026 Tata Punch facelift features a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 120hp and 170Nm. The existing 1.2-litre petrol and petrol-CNG engines continue, but the CNG version now offers an AMT option.

Tata Punch Facelift: Safety

Safety has improved further. While the older Punch was already safe, the facelift offers six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, and retains its 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, making it safer and more feature-rich than before.
