Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone said on Monday, May 11, that Pranav Choudhary has resigned as CEO-Ports with effect from May 31, 2026, to
pursue his career opportunities outside the Adani Group.
The company has appointed Niraj Bansal as CEO-Ports with effect from June 1, 2026.
Bansal is a former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer with over 27 years of service in the Government of India. He took voluntary retirement as Commissioner of Income Tax and later served as Deputy Chairman and Chairman-in-charge of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust from 2014 to 2019.
The company said that during his tenure, JNPT handled 66 million metric tonnes of cargo in FY18, the highest since the port’s inception.He joined the Adani Group in October 2022 and has served as CEO of Hazira Port and currently as CEO – New Port Project Development, Maharashtra, where he has been overseeing project development and operational preparedness.

Ahead of the announcement, shares of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone ended marginally higher on Monday, with the stock closing at ₹1,766.50 on the NSE, up ₹6.10 or 0.35%.
