After 40-day shutdown, BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi to reopen to worshippers

Date:

The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi will reopen to devotees from April 14. It was temporarily closed for nearly 40 days due to the US-Israeli war on Iran. The decision follows confirmation from UAE authorities regarding improved conditions, allowing public access to places of worship to resume. The reopening marks a return to normalcy and the restoration of regular religious activities at the temple.Prior registration

The temple announced via Instagram that devotees will be allowed to offer prayers but only after prior registration. Visitors must book their entry either through the official website, Mandir.ae/visit, or by using the BAPS Mandir mobile application. Entry without prior registration will not be permitted. Visiting hours have been set from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9 am and 8 pm. The temple will remain closed on Mondays for maintenance and internal observances.
Swami Brahmaviharidas, head of the temple, shared an official message ahead of the reopening. In a video posted on X, he said, “With God’s grace and prayers from millions, the BAPS Hindu Mandir, through its saints and volunteers, has served society selflessly and spiritually with courage, compassion, and prayer. The mandir is our home in a nation where everyone feels at home—safe and peaceful.”

He added, “Please come with all your faith, all your hopes, and all your prayers for your families, your friends, our future, and the able, stable, and commendable leadership of the UAE, and all the wise leaders of the world who believe in love, peace, and harmony. Let us be one, for one nation, one world, one humanity.”After the temple reopens, the Ganga Aarti will resume as per schedule and will be conducted daily at 7:30 pm. On weekends and public holidays, an additional session will be held at 6:45 pm. Devotees attending the aarti must also follow the registration process and entry guidelines.

As per the reports, a strict dress code remains in place for all visitors. Attire must cover shoulders and knees. Sleeveless tops, shorts, mini-skirts, tight-fitting clothing and transparent garments are not permitted inside the temple. Besides, clothing that displays political messages or offensive content is also prohibited.
