The Central Government has re-appointed Anand Gopal Mahindra as a part-time, non-official director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a period of four years, with effect from August 20, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.Mahindra is the chairman of the Mahindra Group and Mahindra & Mahindra. He has been a non-official director on the RBI’s Central Board under Section 8(1)(c) of the RBI Act, 1934, since 2022. Education and qualificationsMahindra graduated from Harvard College in 1977 and went on to obtain an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1981.As Chairman of the Mahindra Group, he also serves as the non-executive chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra and Tech Mahindra. He is also associated with several organisations, including the Breach Candy Hospital Trust and Tech Mahindra Foundation, and continues to serve as a part-time, non-official director on the RBI Central Board.
