The Andhra Pradesh government has said Royal Enfield plans to invest about ₹2,200 crore in a new manufacturing facility and vendor park in the state. This would mark the company’s first major expansion outside Tamil Nadu since its inception in 1901.According to a state government release, the proposed project was approved by the Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The government said the facility would come up at Satyavedu in Tirupati district near the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border and would be developed in two phases.
The Andhra Pradesh government said it has allocated 267 acres of land for the project across Vanelluru and Rallakuppam villages in Satyavedu mandal.According to the release, the proposed facility is expected to add nearly 900,000 units to Royal Enfield’s manufacturing capacity and generate around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. The government also said the first phase of the project would include a dedicated vendor park aimed at bringing the company’s supplier ecosystem to Andhra Pradesh and supporting the development of an automotive manufacturing cluster in the state. The first phase is targeted for completion by 2029, while the second phase is expected to be completed by 2032, the release added.Andhra Pradesh IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh said the proposed investment reflects the state’s efforts to position itself as a manufacturing destination.“Royal Enfield is far more than a motorcycle brand – it is a timeless symbol of heritage, craftsmanship and enduring quality,” Lokesh said in the release. The Andhra Pradesh government said the project is expected to support industrial development in the southern region of the state and strengthen its push to attract investments across mobility, electronics, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing sectors.
