Angel One Q1 Results: Transaction revenue drops sequentially, but biz diversification continues

Angel One reported its June-quarter earnings on Wednesday, with its key parameters declining sequentially.The fintech and broking firm’s consolidated net profit declined 28% to ₹231 crore in the first quarter, compared with ₹320.24 crore sequentially.

Revenue declined 2% to ₹1,429 crore from ₹1,459.42 crore in the previous quarter. Its adjusted earnings before depreciation, amortization and taxes (EBDAT) was down 1% at ₹492.88 crore from ₹298.42 crore in the prior quarter. Meanwhile, its adjusted EBDAT margin was at 34%.
Angel One’s credit business remained a key growth driver during the quarter.The average client funding book increased 5% to ₹6,140 crore from ₹5,849 crore sequentially.

Its client acquisition has slowed as has SIP registrations. The company’s turnover market share moderated slightly across equity, cash and commodities.

Chairman and Managing Director, Dinesh Thakkar said India’s financialisation presents a compelling long-term opportunity, supported by a large working-age population, expanding digital infrastructure and rising participation in formal finance.

“Our strategy is to build India’s most trusted fintech, serving users across every stage of their financial journey,” Thakkar said.

“Our performance this quarter reflects disciplined execution against this strategy. We remain committed to creating sustainable value for our users and shareholders over the long term.”He added that deeper user engagement is helping expand monetisation opportunities, improve user lifetime value and strengthen operating leverage.

The board declared a first interim dividend of Re. 1 per equity share for FY27.

The company’s Margin Trading Facility based revenue grew by 3% from the previous quarter.While the core business saw a subdued performance with a drop in transaction revenue due to a drop in market activity, a slowdown in client acquisitions and in SIP registrations, the diversification of the business continued.

The AUM of the Wealth Management business surged 33% on a sequential basis to ₹13,440 crore, while the AMC AUM grew by 71% from the previous quarter to ₹620 crore.

Ahead of the earnings announcement, shares of Angel One Ltd closed at ₹344 on the NSE, up 3.13% for the day.
