“Just mass firings … it’s not good for a business to run that way,” Wozniak told CNBC.
“It’s really to find out what works and what doesn’t, make the changes.”
DOGE, an initiative launched by US President Donald Trump, aims to optimise federal agencies and slash administrative costs. But Wozniak argued that such reforms should be done “more surgically, with a scalpel instead of a sledgehammer.”Wozniak: Trump and Musk are ‘Bullies’
Wozniak also accused both Trump and Musk of “bullying” in their treatment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the US government’s handling of Ukraine.
“Elon Musk, I don’t know what got into his head,” Wozniak said. “Sometimes you get so rich at these big companies, and you’re on top—it goes to your head.”
The Apple co-founder, who has Ukrainian heritage, expressed support for Ukraine amid deteriorating US-Ukraine relations. Washington has re-engaged with Moscow but has excluded Kyiv from early peace talks.
“Bullying is the best way to think of it,” Wozniak said. “If you’re in school, the bully is going to force their way on the little guy.”
‘On the Wrong Side of Elon’
Wozniak also suspects he has been banned from X, formerly Twitter, after publicly criticising Tesla’s vehicle quality.
“Maybe it’s because I was on the wrong side of Elon,” he said, noting that his account has been frozen for months despite not violating platform rules.
A longtime Tesla owner, Wozniak has grown disillusioned with the company’s direction, calling its user interface “the worst in the world.” He also raised safety concerns over Tesla’s Full Self-Driving and Autopilot features.
