Date:

Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA) has hailed the Union Budget, saying that it is positive for tyre sector.

The government’s continued emphasis on strengthening the manufacturing sector, enhancing logistics infrastructure, expanding road networks and boosting overall infrastructure development will have a significant positive impact for the tyre Industry and the broader automotive ecosystem, said Arnab Banerjee, Chairman ATMA.

The announcement of the National Manufacturing Mission will drive investments, boost efficiency, and enhance the competitiveness of Indian manufacturing sector on the global stage. A strong and resilient manufacturing sector is essential for the tyre industry, ensuring sustained demand from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and replacement markets.

Moreover improved urban logistics, efficient freight corridors, and seamless distribution networks will reduce supply chain bottlenecks, benefiting the tyre industry in terms of faster movement of raw materials and finished products.

The government’s continued focus on the road sector will directly boost the tyre industry by increasing vehicular movement and demand for commercial and passenger vehicles. Development of new tourist destinations will encourage vehicle ownership and long-distance road travel, supporting the tyre replacement market.

A well-developed road and logistics network is the backbone of the automotive sector, and these initiatives will drive sustained demand for tyres across commercial, passenger, and agricultural segments, added Banerjee.
