Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reportedly killed in Israeli-US strikes, Iran declines to confirm

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been killed in Israeli-US strikes, Reuters reported citing a senior Israeli official. Earlier, Benjamin Netanyahu said there were “many signs” suggesting Khamenei may have been killed in the strikes.”This morning we destroyed the compound of the tyrant Khamenei,” Netanyahu said in a video statement. He added that for more than 30 years Khamenei had “dispatched terrorism across the world, made his own people miserable, and worked constantly and tirelessly on a program to annihilate the state of Israel.”

“There are many signs that this tyrant is no longer. This morning we eliminated senior officials in the ayatollahs’ regime, Revolutionary Guards commanders, senior figures in the nuclear programme — and we will continue. In the next few days, we will hit thousands more targets of the terror regime,” Netanyahu said.
In an interview with ABC, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei declined to confirm the condition of Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian. “I cannot confirm anything,” Baghaei said. “What is important is that our people, the entire nation, are focused on defending our sovereignty and territorial integrity.”There was no immediate confirmation from Iranian authorities on Khamenei’s condition.
