Bajel Projects rises 5% after formalising 500 kV transmission line agreement with EETC in Egypt

Date:

Bajel Projects on Wednesday said it has formalised a landmark agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) for the construction of two sections of a 500 kV overhead transmission line in Cairo, Egypt. The company said it has entered into an agreement with EETC for the construction of two contiguous sections — Lot 1 and Lot 5 — of a 500 kV Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL). The agreement was formalised at a signing ceremony held in Cairo, following the company’s earlier intimation on April 29, 2026, regarding the transmission line order in the MENA region.

According to the company, the combined order falls under the ultra-mega category and is valued at over ₹400 crore. The project forms part of Egypt’s flagship national grid reinforcement programme aimed at strengthening the country’s high-voltage transmission network and enabling reliable power evacuation to support its growing economic and industrial demand.
The agreement was signed by Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director & CEO of Bajel Projects, in the presence of Suresh K Reddy, Ambassador of India to Egypt, along with senior dignitaries from both countries.Commenting on the development, Ganesh said winning the order marked a defining moment for Bajel Projects and reflected global confidence in the company’s engineering capabilities, execution rigour and ability to deliver complex high-voltage infrastructure projects in international markets. He added that the order would strengthen the company’s footprint in the MENA region.

The company said the agreement further consolidates its position as an international EPC partner in the high-voltage transmission segment and builds on its expanding presence in the MENA region, including its joint venture in Saudi Arabia and recently launched subsidiary in Abu Dhabi.

On the NSE, Bajel Projects shares were trading 5.33% higher at ₹186.49.
