Bangladesh elections underway
Voting in Bangladesh began at 7:30 am (local time) on Thursday, February 12, amid reports of scattered unrest across the country ahead of polling day.

Anandabazar.com reported incidents of crude bomb attacks near polling booths, alleged gunfire targeting political figures’ homes and cases of assault in the run-up to the elections.
However, authorities have not confirmed whether the Kamalganj killing is linked to election-related violence.
Family recounts disappearance, police probe underway
The victim was the son of a tea garden labourer and worked in the same sector, as per the Anandabazar.com report. His family reported that he had been missing since the night of Tuesday, February 10.
They later learnt that a body with bound limbs had been found and went to the site, where they identified him. Relatives told the outlet that he had no known personal enmity and they were unable to understand the motive behind the attack.
Kamalganj police station officer-in-charge Abdul Awal said the body had been sent to the Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, according to the report.

Co-workers alleged that the tied limbs and visible wounds suggested foul play. Police said they were examining all possible angles and had not ruled out any connection to the elections.
