According to his family, he had gone missing on January 11 after a family argument, and his family had been searching for him since. As reports of the discovery circulated on social media, Abhi’s family rushed to the riverbank and identified him by his clothing.
As of now, the specific cause of Abhi Chandra’s death remains undetermined, and investigations are ongoing.
Both family members and local residents have questioned whether the death was accidental or involved foul play. Abhi’s father informed local media that the family searched extensively before filing a general diary at Adamdighi police station.Naogaon Sadar police officer-in-charge Niamul Islam stated that the body was sent for a post-mortem and the cause of death will be determined once the autopsy report is received, according to The Daily Agrajatra.

Amid the security concerns following the increasing activities of extremist elements, the Indian government has advised the families of Indian diplomats and officials in Bangladesh to return to the country. The action comes just weeks ahead of Bangladesh’s parliamentary elections.
“Given the security situation, as a precautionary measure, we have advised the dependents of mission and post officials to return to India. The mission and all posts in Bangladesh continue to remain open and operational,” an official source was quoted as saying by TOI.
The decision was made in response to recent anti-India protests, which threatened to spiral out of control, as per the sources. “It’s for the time being and will be reviewed later,” stated an anonymous official.
