Bosch Home Comfort declares force majeure as Middle East conflict hits gas supplies

Date:

Bosch Home Comfort India on Tuesday, March 10, has informed stock exchanges of a force majeure situation, citing disruptions in gas supply caused by the ongoing war in the Middle East.In a regulatory filing, the company said maritime navigation across the region has been constrained due to the conflict, affecting the continuous supply of gas.

Bosch Home Comfort said it had also taken note of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas order dated March 9, 2026, which identified priority sectors for the distribution of natural gas following supply disruptions.
“Due to ongoing war situation in Asia’s Middle East Region, the maritime navigation has been constrained which has restricted the continuous supply of Gas across the regions,” the company said. The company added that communication from gas suppliers indicates that supplies may be affected, which could have a temporary and partial impact on production output.
Bosch Home Comfort said the exact impact of the shortage cannot be quantified at present, adding that it is actively monitoring the situation and will update exchanges on any material developments. The disclosure comes amid a series of force majeure announcements across the gas supply chain as the conflict disrupts energy shipments.

Earlier, Gujarat Gas Ltd issued force majeure notices to industrial customers restricting contracted gas supplies after regasified LNG availability turned severely constrained. Petronet LNG, India’s largest gas importer, also issued a force majeure notice after LNG tankers were unable to reach the Ras Laffan terminal in Qatar due to the regional conflict.

Meanwhile, GAIL (India) said it is assessing curbing gas supplies to customers following the disruption. In commercial contracts, force majeure refers to extraordinary events beyond a party’s control — such as war or government actions — that prevent contractual obligations from being fulfilled, typically allowing suppliers to suspend deliveries without penalties under contractual terms

Ahead of the announcement, shares of Bosch Home Comfort India Ltd closed at ₹1,331.25 on the BSE, up ₹30 or 2.31%.
