As of Q4 FY26, the total gross asset value of the Indian REIT market stood at over ₹2.72 lakh crore, while the combined market capitalisation of the sector was above ₹1.70 lakh crore as of May 22, 2026.
Together, the five REITs manage a portfolio spanning more than 187 million sq ft of Grade A office and retail real estate across India. Since inception, cumulative distributions have exceeded ₹31,700 crore.Alok Aggarwal, Managing Director & CEO of Brookfield India Real Estate Trust and Chairperson of the Indian REITs Association, said FY26 marked a strong year for the sector, with distributions rising over 50% year-on-year and reflecting stable operating performance and investor participation.
He added that the addition of a fifth REIT in FY26 highlights growing confidence in the REIT structure as a transparent, yield-generating investment avenue.
The Indian REITs Association (IRA), a SEBI-guided industry body, said it continues to work with regulators to promote best practices and support the development of India’s REIT ecosystem.
