बेंचमार्किंग भी एक भूमिका निभाती है। आईसीआईसीआई प्रूडेंशियल म्यूचुअल फंड के वरिष्ठ फंड मैनेजर रजत चांडक ने बताया कि अधिकांश फ्लेक्सी-कैप योजनाएं बीएसई 500 जैसे व्यापक बाजार सूचकांकों के लिए खुद को बेंचमार्क करती हैं, जहां लार्ज-कैप का वजन 70% से अधिक होता है। उन्होंने कहा, “इस बेंचमार्क के मुकाबले देखने पर, कई फ्लेक्सी-कैप पोर्टफोलियो वास्तव में कम वजन वाले बड़े कैप और अपेक्षाकृत अधिक वजन वाले मिड- और स्मॉल-कैप हो सकते हैं।”
