“Pakistan is playing a very dangerous game, and while it may sound radical, the fact that Pakistan is threatening half of the world with nuclear weapons. It’s threatening to blow up Indian dams and so forth, is an indication that Pakistan has lost its right to be a legitimate state on the international stage,” he added.
Asim Munir had said at a function in Florida’s Tampa that Pakistan would fire missiles on India’s dams once they are constructed on the Indus River, while also threating nuclear attack in the region.”We are a nuclear nation, if we think we are going down, we’ll take half the world down with us,” Munir had said at the event, as per ThePrint.

‘Pakistan should be allowed to collapse’
The Pentagon official further stated that it is time for the United States, under the Trump or future administrations to consider other policies for stability in the region, such as recognition of Balochistan or other regions of Pakistan as a state, and by allowing Pakistan to collapse.
“In reality, Pakistan is already a failed state held together with band aids and the fact is if we do not manage its decline, Asim Munir is right, it could cause a nuclear war,” he said.
“The lesson we should draw is that Pakistan is tethering, failing and it needs to have international intervention for a managed decline. Just like SEAL Team 6 entered to take out Osama bin Laden, it’s coming near time when the future administrations should enter Pakistan to secure its nuclear weapons because the alternative is simply too great to bear,” he added.
‘US not a worthy ally’
The former Pentagon official also said that Asim Munir should have been immediately flown out of the US for his nuclear threats to India from American soil.
“There is absolutely no excuse for tolerating such language, threat and nuclear-rogue behaviour, especially on American soil. Within 30 minutes of making the statement, Asim Munir should have been ushered out, taken to Tampa International Airport and flown out of the US to the Bahamas, Cuba or anywhere and Pakistanis could pick him up from there,” Rubin said.
“The message that the US is sending is that we are not a worthy ally, he added.
