Ganesh Narayanan named MD, CEO of CreditAccess Grameen

CreditAccess Grameen Ltd, a non-banking financial company-micro finance institution (NBFC-MFI), has announced the appointment of Ganesh Narayanan as its managing director and chief executive officer (MD & CEO) for a five-year term, effective August 5,  following the Reserve Bank of India’s approval.The appointment was previously cleared by the company’s board of directors and shareholders at the annual general meeting, and has now come into effect post-regulatory clearance.

Narayanan, who joined the company in January 2020 as chief business officer, has over 27 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. His prior stints include those in ICICI Bank, Fullerton India Credit Co Ltd (now SMFG India Credit), and YES Bank, with expertise in rural and agri banking, microfinance, and financial institutions.


Additionally, the company announced that Udaya Kumar Hebbar, former MD & CEO, has been appointed as non-executive (nominee) director, also effective August 5.The shares of the Bengaluru-headquartered NBFC-MFI ended 2.6% in the red on Wednesday, August 6. The stock has gained close to 36% in the year so far.
