Here’s why Tatva Chintan Pharma shares surged 20% on Friday in a weak market

Shares of Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem Ltd. gained on Friday, July 25, after the company reported a revenue growth and strong margin expansion in the first quarter of the financial year 2026.The company’s profit after tax increased by 27.7% to ₹6.7 crore in the June quarter in comparison to ₹5.2 crore in the previous year.
Its revenue in the first quarter was at ₹117 crore. This was 10.8% higher than last year’s ₹105 crore.
Tatva Chintan’s earnings before interest taxes depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 37.4% to ₹17 crore from ₹12.6 crore in the first quarter of the previous fiscal.
Its operating margins expanded to 14.8% from 12% in the year-ago period.The stock had soared last week when the shareholding pattern had disclosed that Mukul Agrawal had acquired a 1.28% stake in the company.

Agrawal’s name does not feature in the company’s shareholding pattern at the end of the March quarter.

At the end of the June quarter, promoters of Tatva Chintan Pharma had a 72% stake in the company.

Shares of Tatva Chintan gained nearly 20% to hit a fresh 52-week high of ₹1,218.5 apiece on Friday, July 25. The stock was up 17.58% at ₹1,194 apiece at 10.45 am. It has gained 27% in the past month and 39.11% this year, so far.
