The FSIB stated that, keeping in view the candidates’ performance during the interaction, their overall experience and the extant parameters, it has recommended Joshi for appointment as CMD of GIC Re.
The recommendation follows a structured evaluation process undertaken by the Bureau for appointments to senior positions in financial institutions.The official note confirming the recommendation was signed by the Secretary of the Financial Services Institutions Bureau.

GIC Re is one of the key institutions in India’s reinsurance sector, and the CMD position is responsible for leading the organisation’s overall strategy and operations.
With the recommendation now made by the FSIB, the appointment will proceed as per the applicable procedures governing top-level appointments in financial institutions.
