India to allow export of 10 lakh metric tonnes of sugar: Govt sources

The Indian government has decided to permit the export of 10 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of sugar, government sources revealed on Sunday, January 19.

The decision was taken during a meeting held earlier in the day, where officials assessed the country’s sugar production estimates and current stock levels.

A formal notification is expected to be issued soon, detailing the specifics of the export policy, including the batches and volume allocation for the permitted export quantity.
