The discussions are likely to cover a wide range of issues including market access, digital trade, intellectual property rights, tariff barriers, among others. The Indian delegation’s objective will be to build on the momentum of previous engagements and to bring a closure to the developments.The upcoming meeting is significant as it marks one of the highest-level trade interactions between the two nations since higher tariffs were implemented by the Trump administration. Relations between India and the US had seen substantial improvement, with bilateral trade touching $200 billion in 2024-25, making the US India’s largest trading partner.During the last visit of the team of officials from the office of United States’ Trade Representative to India on September 16, 2025, positive discussions were held on various aspects of the trade deal, and it was decided to intensify efforts in this regard.The visit comes at a time when India is actively engaging with multiple global partners to diversify trade relationships and strengthen its manufacturing and technology sectors under the Make in India initiative.(Edited by : Jerome Anthony)
