The war in West Asia triggered by US-Israeli attacks on Iran has entered its ninth day with no signs of abating. Here are the live updates
As many as 1,332 people have been killed in Iran, while at least 11 have died in Israel, six US soldiers have been killed, and nine people have died in Gulf states, according to Al Jazeera’s preliminary figures.
As things stand at present, both sides show no sign of abating. In fact, Saudi Arabia warned Iran on Saturday to stop attacks on the kingdom and its energy sector or face retaliation as Tehran continues to target US bases in the Gulf states, Reuters reported.
US President Donald Trump remarked that he would make Iran surrender by eliminating all its key leaders after having killed its Supreme Leader last week. He had previously said that the war could go on for four to five weeks or more.
However, there are growing concerns that US stockpile of high-end weapons is fast depleting despite Trump’s repeated assurance that there are plenty. Meanwhile, cracks begin to show Iran’s leadership as the country is yet to appoint its next Supreme Leader.
