Iran warns of possible strikes on oil sites in Saudi, UAE, Qatar; urges people to leave areas

Date:

Iran has issued an urgent public warning asking people to stay away from key oil and gas facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, signalling the risk of imminent strikes amid the escalating regional conflict. In a statement circulated by state-linked media, Tehran identified multiple strategic energy sites — including refineries, gas fields and petrochemical complexes — as “direct and legitimate targets” that could be hit in the coming hours.

Among the locations flagged were the Samref refinery and Jubail petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia, the Al Hosn gas field in the UAE, and the Ras Laffan and Mesaieed industrial facilities in Qatar.
Authorities urged all citizens, residents and workers in and around these areas to evacuate immediately and move to a safe distance. The warning comes as tensions in West Asia continue to intensify, with energy infrastructure increasingly in the crosshairs. Any disruption at these facilities could have significant implications for global oil and gas supplies, given their strategic importance.

Iran also blamed regional governments for the escalation, accusing them of aligning with external powers despite earlier warnings from Tehran.

The development has heightened concerns of a broader conflict that could directly threaten critical energy supply chains and further unsettle global markets.
