IRFC OFS opens today; Govt to divest 2% stake — check floor price

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) are down 4% on Wednesday, after the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) Secretary said the government will divest a 2% equity stake in the company through an Offer for Sale (OFS), with an additional green shoe option of 2%.The floor price for the OFS has been set at ₹104 per share.The OFS for non-retail investors will open on February 25, while retail investors can bid on February 26. If the green shoe option is fully exercised, the total stake sale could go up to 4%.Ahead of the announcement, IRFC shares closed at ₹109.40 on the NSE on Tuesday, February 24, down ₹2.45 or 2.19% for the day.As of December 31, the Government of India held an 86.36% stake in IRFC. The company was listed in January 2021 at an IPO price of ₹26 per share and has touched an all-time high of ₹229. The stock is currently down 52% from its record high.The stake sale follows the company’s recent operational update. IRFC had earlier in January, announced that it achieved its full-year sanctions guidance of ₹60,000 crore within the first nine months of the financial year. The update was shared alongside its December quarter results.For the quarter, net profit rose 10.5% year-on-year to ₹1,802 crore, the highest-ever quarterly profit reported by the company. Revenue moderated 1.5% to ₹6,661 crore from ₹6,763 crore a year earlier, largely due to a one-year extension of a moratorium granted by the Ministry of Railways on a project lease agreement, which impacted revenue recognition.Also Read: Aditya Infotech block deal: Promoters, Dixon Tech likely to offload up to 5.8% stakeChairman and Managing Director Manoj Kumar Dubey said the company’s ₹30,000 crore disbursement target remains on track, with nearly three-fourths already disbursed by the end of the third quarter. Assets under management rose to a record ₹4.75 lakh crore, and the company maintained its zero non-performing asset status.Shares of IRFC are trading 4% lower on Wednesday at ₹105, closer to the OFS floor price.
