JSW Energy approves ₹10,000 crore fund raise via QIP

JSW Energy Ltd.’s board has approved raising funds to the tune of ₹10,000 crore after its meet on Friday, December 12.

JSW Energy will raise funds through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) or other securities

The company informed the exchanges that it has approved issuing 95.23 lakh shares via preferential basis to promoter at ₹525 per share.

JSW Energy will issue convertible warrants of 4.76 Cr to promoter at ₹525 per warrant.

The preferential issue and subsequent fund-raising tranches are subject to shareholder nod and statutory approvals as required.

On December 9, US-based investment firm GQG Partners sold nearly a 1% stake in JSW Energy for ₹677 crore through a block deal, offloading 1.5 crore shares at an average price of ₹444 per share.

Following the transaction, GQG Partners’ holding in JSW Energy was 1.8% as of the end of September 2025.

Shares of JSW Energy Ltd. are trading 4.60% higher on Friday at 478.85. The stock is down 26% so far in 2025.
