Julius Baer prefers private banks over PSU lenders as margins improve

Date:

Nitin Raheja, Head of Discretionary Mandates at Julius Baer India, said the banking sector is well placed as the interest rate cut cycle appears to have bottomed out, helping net interest margins while credit growth remains strong. He expects foreign selling-led valuation corrections to create opportunities in private banks. Raheja also remains positive on pharmaceuticals across generics, APIs and CDMOs, sees limited downside in IT valuations, and prefers transmission infrastructure over renewable equipment makers.
