KEC International wins ₹1,050 crore orders, bags maiden wind energy project

Date:

KEC International Ltd. started the new year with a mix of domestic and international orders worth ₹1,050 crore across its renewables, civil, transmission and distribution (T&D), and cables and conductors businesses.

The company marked its entry into wind energy segment with a “breakthrough” order for a 100+ MW wind power project in South India from a private developer.

Vimal Kejriwal, Managing Director and CEO, KEC International, said, “We are pleased with the new order wins across businesses especially the maiden order in the Wind Energy segment secured by our Renewables business, marking our entry into this fast-growing area of the Renewable energy sector.”

The company’s civil business has received an order in the Buildings & Factories (B&F) segment from an existing client for execution of a downstream project in western India for a leading steel company.

In the T&D business, KEC has secured orders for the supply of towers, hardware and poles in the Americas. Its subsidiary, SAE Towers, won significant tower supply orders in Mexico, indicating improved demand in the North American transmission market.

It has also secured an order to supply various types of cables and conductors in India as well as overseas markets.

With these orders, KEC International’s year-to-date order intake stands at around ₹19,300 crore, the company said.

Shares of KEC International are trading at 736.70 apiece, which is 0.16% lower than the day’s opening on the NSE.

In December, the company secured the largest order for its T&D business in India with new orders worth ₹1,150 crore.
