After meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s aides reportedly conducted a meticulous clean-up operation. A video has surfaced online showing the North Korean staff wiping all of Kim Jong Un’s furnishings, whisking away his glass and sanitising every object he touched during his meeting.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, the moment looks like an apparent attempt to eliminate all traces of his DNA. North Korean and Russian leaders met on Wednesday, September 3, as China held one of its grandest military parades in honour of the 80th anniversary of the conclusion of World War II in Asia. It was the first time the North Korean leader attended an international meeting of world leaders.
In the footage, two staff members are seen wiping the backrest of Kim’s chair and removing his glass on a tray after his meeting with Putin. One of the staff wipes the seat’s wooden arms and the table next to it. Russian journalist Alexander Yunashev reported this unusual clean-up effort on his Telegram channel, Yunashev Live, according to the Daily Mail.

“After the negotiations, the staff accompanying the head of the DPRK carefully destroyed all traces of Kim’s presence. They took away the glass from which he drank, wiped the upholstery of the chair and those parts of the furniture that the Korean leader touched,” Alexander said.
Alexander also mentioned that both leaders seemed pleased and headed to a more relaxed setting for tea after the official meeting.
According to another report in Nikkei Asia, Kim Jong Un’s armored train to China is equipped with a private lavatory designed to prevent the leak of any biometric data.
He isn’t the only world leader concerned about protecting his DNA. Reportedly, Putin’s bodyguards also carried a special “poop suitcase” to collect the leader’s faecal waste during his Alaska summit with US President Donald Trump.
Putin’s Federal Protection Service (FPS) appears to have been doing this procedure since 2017 to prevent hostile leaders from gaining intelligence about his health through his excrement.
