Kotak Mahindra Bank reports Q1 net profit of ₹3,282 crore, net interest income increases 6%

Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. reported its earnings for the first quarter on Saturday, July 26.Its reported a net profit of ₹3,281.7 crore in the June quarter, missing Street estimates of ₹3,442 crore. It was 57.5% lower than the previous year’s ₹6,250 crore.
Its net interest income was at ₹7,249 crore near Street estimates of ₹7,293 crore. The NII increased 6.1% to from the ₹6,842 crore the lender reported in the first quarter of the previous fiscal.
Kotak Mahindra Bank’s gross non-performing assets (NPA) increased to ₹6,637.7 crore in the first quarter from  ₹6,134 crore in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2025. It was at 1.48% in the June quarter in comparison to 1.42% in the previous one.
Its net non-performing assets for the June quarter increased to ₹1,531 crore from ₹1,343 crore sequentially. It was at 0.34% in the first quarter in comparison to 0.31% in the previous one.Its provisions were at ₹1,207.76 crore in the June quarter in comparison to ₹909.38 crore sequentially. The lender’s provisions in the June quarter last fiscal were at ₹578.48 crore.

Kotak Mahindra Bank reported net interest margin (NIM) of 4.65% in the quarter under review in comparison to Street estimates of 4.8%. It had reported an NIM of 4.97% in the previous quarter.

Kotak Mahindra Bank shares ended the previous session 0.98% lower at ₹2,121.2 apiece. The stock has gained 18.6% this year, so far.
