Market at Close | Sensex flat, Nifty Bank hits record intraday high as rally extends to 4th day

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty extended gains for the fourth consecutive session on Thursday (November 13) but ended off the day’s highs as profit booking emerged in late trade. The Nifty slipped more than 150 points from the day’s peak to close flat.The Sensex rose 12 points to 84,478, while the Nifty inched up 3 points to 25,879. The Nifty Bank outperformed, gaining 107 points to 58,382 after touching a fresh intraday high. In contrast, the Midcap index underperformed, falling 210 points to 60,692. Market breadth was in favour of declines, with the NSE advance-decline ratio at 2:3.

Among stocks, Asian Paints climbed 4% to emerge as the top Nifty gainer following its Q2 results. Samvardhana Motherson also rose 4%, while Eicher Motors fell over 1% after reporting quarterly earnings. Tata Steel slipped 1% amid concerns over its UK unit and widening losses.Groww extended gains, advancing over 4% after a strong debut. Prestige Estates, Honasa, and Data Patterns traded higher following their Q2 results, while Lupin gained 1% after the US FDA issued an Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) for its Aurangabad facility.
