From the Sensex basket, Eicher Motors Ltd, Bharat Electronics Ltd, Max Healthcare Institute Ltd, Shriram Finance Ltd, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd were the major gainers.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Tata Consumer Products Ltd, Coal India Ltd, Bajaj Finance Ltd, Asian Paints Ltd and UltraTech Cement Ltd were the major gainers.Among key contributors to the Nifty’s gains were ICICI Bank, Reliance, SBI and Eicher Motors. Tata Motors PV emerged as the top Nifty gainer, rising 3% on its strongest registration growth so far.
Defence stocks closed higher on the back of a potential India-Israel defence deal, with Data Patterns rising 6%. Tejas Networks jumped 17% after bagging a large 5G MIMO radio order. Shaily Engineering Plastics gained 3% after the company secured a ₹423 crore pen injector contract. Mankindextended gains for the fourth straight session, rising nearly 12%.

On the downside, Eternal fell for a straight session and emerged as the top Nifty loser for the day. Sanofi India declined 3% after its Q4 results showed revenue growth falling for the third consecutive quarter. Cholamandalam Investment saw volatility after reports around Vellayan Subbiah’s exit were denied, with the stock rebounding 7% from its lows.
According to NSE data, Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the equity market today, with provisional outflows amounting to ₹3,465.99 crore. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs), on the other hand, were net buyers, purchasing equities worth a provisional ₹5,031.57 crore.
