Merz visits Bosch Bengaluru campus during India trip

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited the Bosch campus in Bengaluru on Tuesday, January 13. Merz, who is on a two-day official visit to Indiaarrived in the IT city on the second day of his trip and visited the Bosch campus at Adugodi.

The German delegation was introduced to Bosch’s H2ICE demonstrator truck, which features a fully-integrated powertrain and telematics system. The company, as cited by PTI, said it is working with its German counterpart to develop hydrogen-based solutions aimed at accelerating zero-emission and sustainable mobility.

The chancellor was also shown Bosch’s AIShield platform, designed to enhance the security and reliability of artificial intelligence systems. Bosch said AIShield includes more than 150 patents in AI security.

Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director of Bosch Limited, hosted the high-powered team at the company’s headquarters, where innovations developed in the region were showcased.

“We feel honoured to welcome the esteemed Federal Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, to the Bosch India campus. His presence not only affirms Bosch’s enduring legacy but also reinforces India’s position as a global hub of technological innovation and economic growth,” Mudlapur said, reported PTI.

The visit highlighted the deepening economic and technological ties between India and Germany.
