More than 1,000 employees reportedly signed a petition asking the company to stop the tracking as concerns over privacy, morale and future layoffs continue to grow internally.

Block, the fintech company behind Square, cut nearly 40 per cent of its workforce in February, citing operational changes linked to AI adoption. LinkedIn recently announced fresh layoffs, while Cisco, Microsoft and several others have also announced layoffs or voluntary exits.
