Motherson becomes Tier 1 supplier for Airbus commercial aircraft

Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd (Motherson) has been selected as a Tier 1 supplier to Airbus commercial aircraft. The agreement, signed through its subsidiary CIM Tools India Pvt. Ltd., involves the supply of aerospace components and assemblies directly to Airbus’ final assembly lines.Production and deliveries under this contract will be carried out from Motherson’s aerospace facility in Bengaluru. The company is already a Tier 1 supplier for Airbus Helicopter and Airbus Defence and Space, and this latest contract further strengthens its relationship with the European aircraft manufacturer.
“We are proud to be recognised as a Tier 1 supplier to Airbus commercial aircraft. This achievement highlights our manufacturing capabilities, high-quality standards, and commitment to timely delivery,” said Vivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman of Motherson said commenting on the deal.
Kunal Bajaj, President of Motherson’s Aerospace Business Division, noted that this new status is expected to drive significant business growth with Airbus. Motherson’s aerospace division operates 16 facilities across four countries, supplying critical components covering all sections of an aircraft, from nose to tail.

Despite the announcement, shares of Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd were trading flat at ₹119.10, down 0.25%, on the BSE at 2:33 pm on Tuesday.
