US-Iran War Live Updates: After stalling two weeks of continous attacks on Iran, the US is now signalling a possible diplomatic opening. President Donald Trump said Washington was engaged in “very friendly negotiations” with Tehran and expressed hope that a deal could be reached, while warning that the US would “go back to doing what we were doing two days ago” if talks failed.The remarks come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has departed for a meeting with Trump in the US.

It has now been exactly five months since the war broke out on February 28, when the US and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iranian military and nuclear-linked targets, triggering the biggest direct military confrontation between Washington and Tehran in decades.
