India’s biggest liquefied natural gas company Petronet lng Ltd on Monday (January 27) reported a 25.5% year-on-year (YoY) surge in net profit at ₹867 crore for the third quarter that ended December 31, 2024. In the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, Petronet LNG posted a net profit of ₹1,190.3 crore.

The company’s net profit was up 2.3% sequentially from ₹847.6 crore in the August-September quarter.

The company’s revenue from operations dropped 17.09% to ₹12,227 crore against ₹14,747 crore in the year-ago period. Petronet LNG’s revenue fell 6% quarter-on-quarter from ₹13,021.8 crore.
At the operating level, EBITDA stood at ₹1,247.6 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal against ₹1,200.5 crore in the second quarter. The EBITDA margin stood at 10.2% against 9.2% in the second quarter. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.
The results came after the close of the market hours. Shares of Petronet LNG Ltd ended at ₹310.95, down by ₹11.60, or 3.60%, on the BSE.
