RailTel bags ₹115 crore Power Grid order; says GAIL pact non-binding

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. on Wednesday, March 11, said it has received a services order worth ₹115.20 from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.In an exchange filing, the company said the Letter of Intent (LoI) involves services to be executed for Power Grid, with the project timeline extending until September 10, 2034.

RailTel added that the project does not fall under related party transactions. The company also clarified that neither its promoters nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding entity.

Clarification on GAIL MoUIn a separate filing, RailTel clarified media reports regarding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GAIL (India) Ltd. to build a digital infrastructure backbone.

The company confirmed that it had signed a non-binding MoU with GAIL on March 5, 2026, to explore opportunities in digital infrastructure development.

However, RailTel said no definitive terms have been finalised under the agreement so far.

The company further clarified that the MoU does not qualify as a material event under SEBI’s listing regulations and that it is not aware of any undisclosed information that could have influenced the movement in its share price.

RailTel also stated that the news report had no material impact on the company and any share price movement may be attributed to general market conditions.

Shares of the company were trading near Tuesday’s closing price at ₹288.25 as of 12.16 pm on Wednesday. The stock, however, has lost more than 15% in the last month.
