Broader markets lagged, with the midcap index slipping 43 points, while the Nifty Bank index remained largely flat. Market breadth was neutral, with the advance-decline ratio at 1:1.
Among stocks, Bandhan Bank surged 11% after a strong Q4 performance, while Vedanta gained nearly 5% post results. Reliance Industries extended gains for a third straight session, rising 3%.
On the downside, BPCL declined over 1% as Brent crude prices surged near $115 per barrel. Federal Bank slipped sharply from intraday highs despite strong earnings, while Dr Reddy’s Laboratories fell 2% even after receiving Health Canada approval for Semaglutide.
