Sensex Today | Stock Market Live Updates: Nifty slips below 25,600 dragged lower by IT stocks

Date:

Stock Market Live Updates: The Nifty 50 index is set to begin the monthly F&O expiry session tracking another round of selling on Wall Street, putting IT stocks in the spotlight yet again. The index remains locked in a 500-point range and it remains to be seen whether it can see a directional move in either direction. On the downside, 25,600 and last Friday’s close of 25,571 are important levels, with 25,500 being the psychological support. The index has had a decent series so far with gains of over 400 points. Most likely, it will end the series with gains as well, the only question being, by how much. The index remains stuck in a range of 500 points between 25,500 and 26,000. The first hurdle on the upside though is 25,800 as the index is yet to test or cross last week’s high of 25,885. That will be put to test today as the market grapples with another round of sell-off on Wall Street led by software companies. On the downside, 25,600 and last Friday’s close of 25,571 are important levels, with 25,500 being the psychological support. HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, PSU banks remain the key for the Nifty Bank to move higher. The banking index continues to see hurdles close to its record high levels, but is managing to hold on to the 61,000 mark. Bharti Airtel will be one stock to keep on your radar today, along with Monday’s accidents, IDFC First Bank, AU Small Finance Bank and UPL. Of course, Indian IT continues to remain in the spotlight.
