Indian indices have fallen sharply on Monday, March 23, as the Iran-Israel war continues to build on geopolitical uncertainties and crude prices rise. Investor wealth worth about ₹15 lakh crore has been wiped out, and 46 of the Nifty 50 constituents are trading with losses, with 17 of them hitting the 52-week low. Let’s take a look at stocks hitting their lowest levels in the last 12 months.
Three stocks in the Banking sector hit their 52-week low today, with the Nifty Bank falling about 3.5%. HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank are all down to their respective 52-week lows, having corrected 27%, 19% and 23% from their respective 52-week highs recently. HDFC Bank has now extended its losses and is set for its worst week since March 2020.
Bajaj Finance shares hit a new 52-week low of ₹787.90 today, and have now dropped 28.5% from their 52-week high of ₹1,102.50, recorded on October 23, last year. Shares of Bajaj Finserv are trading over 2% lower today after hitting the 52-week low of ₹1,665.90, which is 24% lower than its 52-week high of ₹2,195. Shares of Bajaj Finance have recovered sharply from the lows of the day.
Shares of HDFC Life Insurance fell about 5% today to hit an intraday and 52-week low of ₹592.30, having dropped nearly 30% from its June 2025 highs of ₹820.75. The stock has dropped 20.35% this year, while delivering a negative 12.1% returns over the past 12 months.
Shares of ITC Ltd. are trading nearly 3% lower today after hitting a 52-week low of ₹289.75. The stock has fallen 34.77% from its yearly high of ₹444.2 apiece. ITC shares have delivered a negative 28% return over the past 12 months. Shares of Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), another FMCG company, also hit their 52-week low at ₹2,033.30 after falling over 26% from their 52-week high of ₹2,750. The stock has slipped more than 10% this year so far.
IT stocks have also been hit by the crash, with Wipro and TCS hitting their respective 52-week lows at ₹187.3 and ₹2,348, respectively. Shares of Wipro fell 31.82% from their 52-week highs of ₹274.70, while those of TCS are down 36.71% from highs of ₹3,710 in March last year. Wipro has dropped 29.64% this year, while TCS is down 25.73% year-to-date.
Shares of Ultratech are trading nearly 5% lower today, and at their 52-week low of ₹10,330. The stock had made a 52-week high of ₹13,110 on February 10 this year, from which it has corrected 28%. The stock has also given up all the gains made so far this year, and is down 13% so far this year.
Shares of Adani Enterprises fell over 5% today, hitting the intraday and 52-week lows of ₹1,822.10. The stock is now down 30.36% from its 52-week high level of ₹2,616.50. The stock has declined over 19% so far this year, and is down 20.4% now over the last 12 months.
Shares of InterGlobe Aviation are trading more than 5% down today. The stock had reached its 52-week high of ₹6,232.50 on August 18 last year and has corrected 37.5% since to hit a 52-week low of ₹3,895.20. The shares have declined nearly 23% this year, delivering a negative 22% return over the past year.
Shares of the retail company Trent hit their 52-week low of ₹3,365.30 today, correcting 46.25% from their 52-week highs of ₹6,261 in June last year. The stock have dropped 21.45% this year and 34.45% over the past 12 months.
Shares of Cipla are trading over 2% lower today, down 18.24% year-to-date, and have fallen 26.86% from their 52-week high of ₹1,673, hovering around 52-week lows of ₹1,223.60.
Shares of Asian Paints hit a 52-week low of ₹2,120.70 today, dropping almost 29% from their 52-week high level of ₹2,985.70. The stock is trading nearly 3% lower today, and has fallen 22.42% year-to-date. The Asian Paints stock is trading more than 7% lower on a 12-month basis.
